  • In 2016 Ed founded Surge, an animal rights non-profit. Surge are currently working on productions that tell the untold stories of individual animals trapped within the animal farming industries.     Ed’s latest production through Surge, Matilda and the Brave Escape is narrated by the actor Bella Ramsey and was released in November 2024. Matilda and the Brave Escape also won the Webby People’s Voice Award in the Animation category in 2025, and won Gold at the Collision Awards in the Kids and Family category. The film was selected for The London International Animation Festival 2026 programme.

  • Ed co-founded Unity Diner in 2018, a non-profit vegan restaurant in London that supports the Surge Sanctuary. As of 2025, Unity Diner is now owned and operated by one of the other original co-founders.
